U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has spoken publicly in support of Trump's planned Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), writing on X: "Elon Musk is right. The Pentagon has a budget of $886 billion, but it has failed its seventh consecutive audit. It has lost count of how many billions of dollars it has lost." He added: "Last year, only 13 senators voted against the military-industrial complex and a defense budget full of waste and fraud. This situation must change." (New York Post)
