Virgin Voyages has announced that it will launch its new “Annual Pass” program starting in 2025, while purportedly becoming the “first cruise product to accept cryptocurrency.”
According to a recent blog post, the company will accept Bitcoin as a form of payment for the new service, with a standard upfront fee of $120,000 per cruise, plus taxes. There is no indication as to when or if Virgin Voyages will consider expanding its cryptocurrency payment options.
The Annual Pass offers unlimited cruises over a year on a first-come, first-served basis. The company said the product was conceived after the success of its “Season Pass” program and is primarily targeted at remote workers. (Cointelegraph)
