Austin Federa, head of strategy at the Solana Foundation, has left the project to co-found a new protocol and network, DoubleZero, designed to manage a high-performance, permissionless network.
Federa said in a statement on X on December 4 that leaving Solana after four years was one of the “toughest career decisions I’ve had to make,” but that the new role will allow him to still participate in the network “from another perspective.”
According to Federa, his new project, DoubleZero, is not an L1 or L2 protocol, but a new global base layer network optimized for blockchains, designed to increase bandwidth and reduce latency. (Cointelegraph)
