Cardano’s L2 protocol Hydra has reached a significant milestone of over 1 million TPS during its Doom gaming tournament. The achievement is part of an ongoing tournament designed to test Hydra’s scalability.
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson explained that the high TPS is driven by each game frame being processed as a transaction, which demonstrates Hydra’s ability to handle a large number of transactions. While official data shows the current TPS is 507, with a peak of over 807,000, it is still far ahead of networks such as Solana and Ethereum. According to Chainspect, Hydra’s test results are more than 100 times higher than Solana’s theoretical maximum TPS of 65,000. (CryptoSlate)
