Trump nominated Paul Atkins as the next chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). An industry source said that Paul Atkins recently expressed his hope that Republican Commissioner Hester Peirce would lead cryptocurrency policy with her Republican colleague Mark Uyeda. Hester Peirce is known as "Crypto Mom."
Earlier news, Peirce hopes to lead an internal cryptocurrency working group that will partially reassess the agency's regulatory approach to digital assets and establish an open dialogue with the industry. Peirce's term will end in June this year, and it is unclear whether she is willing to be nominated again. Mark Uyeda's term will last until 2028. (Foxbusiness)
