AI Godfather: The probability of AI causing human extinction within 30 years is 10% to 20%

Geoffrey Hinton, the "godfather of artificial intelligence," believes there is a 10% to 20% chance that artificial intelligence will lead to human extinction in the next 30 years. He warned that the pace of technological change is much faster than expected. Hinton, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics this year for his contributions to AI, had previously said that there is a 10% chance that AI technology will cause catastrophic consequences for humans.
