James Butterfill, head of research at cryptocurrency asset manager CoinShares, said he thinks Bitcoin could reach $150,000 or $80,000 in 2025. If Butterfill's $80,000 price prediction comes to fruition, it would be due to the failure of Trump's promised pro-cryptocurrency policies. "The disappointment surrounding Trump's proposed cryptocurrency policies and skepticism about their implementation could trigger a sharp market correction," said James Butterfill.
James Butterfill said that in the long term, it is not "unreasonable" to expect Bitcoin's market capitalization to reach 25% of gold's market share (currently around 10%), which would be equivalent to Bitcoin reaching a price of $250,000. But he doesn't think that will happen next year. James Butterfill noted, "The timing of this is hard to figure out, though, and I don't think it will happen in 2025, but it will move in that direction." He said there is a "high probability" that Bitcoin will reach both $80,000 and $150,000 within a year. Next year, James Butterfill expects a favorable U.S. regulatory environment to be the main driver supporting Bitcoin's price. In 2023, CoinShares predicted that the price of Bitcoin would be $80,000 in 2024. (CNBC)
