Ann Altman, sister of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, filed a lawsuit on Monday alleging that her brother sexually abused her regularly between 1997 and 2006.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, alleges that the abuse occurred at their home in Clayton, Missouri, starting when Ann was 3 and Sam was 12. The lawsuit alleges that the abuse occurred "several times a week." The lawsuit states that "as a direct and proximate cause of the above-described sexual assaults," the plaintiff has experienced "severe emotional distress, mental anguish, and depression, which is expected to continue."
Ann has publicly accused her brother of sexual abuse in the past on platforms such as X, but this is the first time she has taken him to court. The lawsuit seeks a jury trial and damages of more than $75,000.
In a joint statement with his mother and brother on X, Sam Altman denied the allegations.
