Do Kwon criminal fraud trial tentatively set for January 2026 as lawyers deal with ‘massive’ evidence

At a preliminary hearing in Manhattan, Chief Attorney Jared Leno told the court that the criminal fraud trial of Terraform Labs co-founder and former CEO Do Kwon in the United States has been tentatively scheduled for January 2026 to give prosecutors and Kwon's defense attorneys ample time to review the "massive" 6TB of data expected to be generated during the investigation. The government also expects to face more delays because it has been unable to access encrypted messages and unlock four phones provided by Montenegrin authorities when Do Kwon was extradited to the United States on December 31, prosecutors said, and it must translate material excerpted from Do Kwon's native Korean into English. The next status conference in the case is scheduled for March 6 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
