Foreign media: The U.S. government efficiency department plans to embed two representatives in major government agencies to lead cost-cutting efforts

Elon Musk's co-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is looking to embed staffers within government agencies to lead cost-cutting efforts. Most major government agencies will get two representatives from DOGE when President-elect Trump takes office on January 20, according to people familiar with the matter. Those not deployed will be assigned to the U.S. Digital Service, a branch of the White House that provides IT consulting services to federal agencies. DOGE may also reportedly have an office in the White House Office of Management and Budget. The office is responsible for preparing the president's budget request to Congress. (New York Times)
