According to PANews, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has called on incoming U.S. President Donald Trump to intervene and prevent the European Union from imposing antitrust fines on American tech companies. In a discussion on Joe Rogan's podcast, Zuckerberg highlighted that over the past two decades, the EU has fined U.S. tech firms more than $30 billion, likening these penalties to tariffs. He criticized the Biden administration for its inadequate response to this issue.
Zuckerberg emphasized that the strength of American tech companies is a strategic advantage for the nation, urging the new administration to take steps to protect these firms from foreign restrictions. He also hinted that Meta's recent decisions to end its third-party fact-checking program and its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives might align with the policy direction of the Trump administration.
