Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama announced the launch of WHY Combinator, a decentralized initiative that aims to foster growth and innovation in the SHIB ecosystem while increasing the utility of the ecosystem token BONE.
Kusama outlined the goals of the initiative, as well as recent developments in the Shiba Inu ecosystem. He revealed the creation of more than 30 technical tools, collectively known as 36 Chambers of Tech, focusing on areas such as artificial intelligence, Web3 gaming, and decentralized identity solutions.
According to Kusama, WHY Combinator is focused on accelerating the adoption of Shiba Inu technology and will support developers who build innovative projects using its L2 network Shibarium. The TREAT token will be at the heart of the initiative, serving as the settlement token for WHY Combinator projects and driving community engagement through weekly TreatDrops. These Drops are designed to reward participation and incentivize activity within the ecosystem.
In addition, Shiba Inu developers are also working to expand the role of BONE in the network. It is currently Shibarium's gas token, and the team is exploring new features.
Additionally, a proposed project involves enabling L3 solutions, these roll-ups would allow Shibarium to act as a settlement layer and data availability layer, similar to systems like Arbitrum and Optimism. If successful, this upgrade would allow Shibarium to become a hub for interconnected “spoke” chains, leveraging Chainlink’s cross-chain capabilities.
