The state-owned energy supplier sees cryptocurrency mining as an opportunity to utilize idle capacity in low-load power centers, which can both increase the company's electricity bill revenue and tax revenue and promote economic development.
The company is technically prepared for mining operations, noting that its infrastructure is equipped with switching equipment required to manage the load of mining facilities. The company also maintains operational data on available capacity and consumption patterns to ensure reliable regional power supply. Rosseti is currently discussing various aspects of its crypto mining business development strategy, including the possible introduction of a separate tariff structure for miners as a demand management tool.
