Bahamas Securities Commission Takes Control of FTX Digital Markets Ltd Assets, Will Address Creditors, Clients and Stakeholders

The Securities Commission of the Bahamas issued a statement regarding the control of FTX Digital Markets Ltd., a subsidiary of FTX Bahamas. The transfer action of the digital wallet controlled by the committee, and the digital assets are managed by the committee. The statement also stated that under the Digital Assets and Registered Transactions Act 2020, the Commission is empowered to apply for judicial orders to protect the interests of clients or customers of Commission registrants under the statute. In the coming days and weeks, the Commission will be engaging with other regulators and authorities in other jurisdictions to address issues affecting creditors, clients and stakeholders of FTX Digital Markets Ltd. globally.
