Odaily Planet Daily News Mario Nawfal, founder and CEO of Dubai venture capital firm IBC Group, wrote on X: "According to data provided by BlackRock, cryptocurrencies have 300 million users in just 12 years, reaching this milestone 43% faster than mobile phones and 20% faster than the Internet.
Younger generations, inflation concerns and Trump's pro-cryptocurrency stance are driving a surge in adoption. With the total net asset value of Bitcoin ETFs expected to reach $250 billion and regulatory victories increasing, mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies is accelerating."
In response, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said: "It really depends on which year you count as the official start year of Bitcoin, Internet and mobile phone adoption before you can make a comparison. But in any case, this is directionally correct. At the current rate, the number of Bitcoin adopters should reach billions by 2030."
