Odaily Planet Daily News According to a document sent by the White House to Congress, President Trump plans to choose Brian Quintenz, director of a16z crypto policy and former CFTC commissioner, to lead the CFTC.
Quintenz has been an active advocate for regulatory reforms that would benefit digital asset companies and other new technologies and financial products. If confirmed, he is expected to push for reforms to help the CFTC become the preferred regulator for cryptocurrencies.
According to the same document, Jonathan Gould will be nominated as director of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and Jonathan McKernan will be appointed director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Trump's nomination plans.
Trump selected Republican junior CFTC Commissioner Caroline Pham as acting chair in January. Former National Credit Union Administration Director Rodney Hood was recently selected as acting director of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. (Bloomberg)
