Odaily Planet Daily News On Wednesday, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in a court filing that Musk had "no facts" to support his claim that OpenAI illegally suppressed competition. "There are no facts to support the existence of this conspiracy," Altman's lawyers wrote to a federal judge in Oakland, California in a 33-page court filing. The lawyers argued that Musk had also not proven that he had suffered any harm from the alleged anti-competitive behavior of OpenAI. Musk's 107-page lawsuit accused Altman of fraud, self-interest and "unfair competition." "He claims that he will suffer irreparable damage without judicial intervention, but has not provided a reasonable explanation for how or why he has suffered damage," Altman's lawyer Jordan Eth wrote in Wednesday's filing. The document is Altman's response to Musk's request that U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers order an immediate stop to what Musk calls OpenAI's unfair and illegal restrictions on its competitors. Musk wants Gonzalez Rogers to immediately block OpenAI's transition from a nonprofit to a for-profit entity, and also wants the judge to prohibit OpenAI from forcing its investors to not invest in competing tech companies, including Grok, a chatbot developed by Musk's own artificial intelligence company xAI.
