Argentine President Calls For Investigation Into Blockchain Project

According to Foresight News, the Argentine President's Office announced that President Javier Milei met with representatives of KIP Protocol in Argentina on October 19 last year. During the meeting, the company outlined plans to develop a blockchain-based project named 'Viva la Libertad,' aimed at providing financial support to private enterprises in Argentina. This meeting has been officially recorded in public hearing records, with attendees including the Argentine President, KIP Protocol representative Julian Peh, and presidential spokesperson Manuel Adoni. In this context, on January 30, 2025, President Milei held discussions with Hayden Mark Davis at the Casa Rosada. According to KIP Protocol representatives, Davis will provide technical infrastructure for the project. Mr. Davis has no past or present affiliations with the Argentine government and is involved solely as a project partner for KIP Protocol. Yesterday, President Milei shared the announcement of the KIP Protocol project launch on his personal social media account, similar to his routine support for Argentine entrepreneurs focused on job creation and investment attraction. However, to prevent speculation and undue attention, the post has since been deleted, as the President is not involved in the cryptocurrency's development. In light of these developments, President Milei has requested the Anti-Corruption Office (OA) to investigate whether any government members, including himself, have engaged in misconduct. All evidence gathered from the investigation will be handed over to judicial authorities to determine if any companies or individuals associated with the KIP Protocol project have committed any crimes.
