According to BlockBeats, on Wednesday, February 20, U.S. President Donald Trump announced to reporters his intention to visit Fort Knox to ensure the gold reserves are indeed there.
Fort Knox, located in Kentucky, is a U.S. Army base that houses more than half of the U.S. Treasury's gold reserves. In the 1930s, the U.S. Treasury moved gold from New York and Philadelphia to Fort Knox to make it less vulnerable to attacks. The remaining gold bars are stored in facilities in Denver and West Point, New York.
Previously, Elon Musk suggested on the X platform that the gold reserves at Fort Knox should be audited at least annually.
