Tether CEO: We will not sit idly by as competitors try to “eliminate Tether”

Over the past decade, Tether has built the widest physical and digital distribution network, from thousands of self-service terminals in Africa and South America to digital remittance platforms, from payment backbones to institutional tools. Our team and portfolio companies work on the ground in countless areas of developing countries every day to help communities, increase the utilization, trust and education level of USDt, and thus affect the US economy. This is how USDt currently helps more than 400 million people and grows at a rate of 35 million new wallets per quarter, focusing on developing countries, while strengthening the US dollar and holding more than $115 billion in US Treasury bonds, making Tether the 18th largest holder of US Treasury bonds. While our competitors’ business model should be to build better products and larger distribution networks, their real intention is to “kill Tether” and every business or political meeting they hold is with the ultimate goal of achieving this intention. Although this may seem a bit exaggerated, it is true and has been independently reported by hundreds of people in and outside the digital asset industry who have been in contact with the US government. I will let you define a competitor that tries to use legal means to kill its opponent instead of focusing on a better product. Tether will not sit idly by and we will not let these attacks succeed. We cannot allow this to happen. We will firmly protect the hundreds of millions of people around the world who have been left behind by the traditional financial system and help them obtain US dollars through USDt. And our competitors are preparing to endanger these communities in their greedy pursuit of monopoly.
