Odaily Planet Daily News James Howells, who tried to retrieve 8,000 bitcoin private key hard drives from a British landfill, had his appeal dismissed again. He said he would seek final relief through the International Human Rights Act.
"The Royal Court of Appeal rejected my request. The British unfair system is working again," said the early Bitcoin holder, and announced that he would file a complaint with the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) next.
The British judge believed that the case had "no realistic prospect of success" and "no other compelling reasons" to support a hearing.
Howells will argue in the ECHR that the British court violated his property rights and fair trial rights, saying "the British authorities want to cover this up, but I won't let them succeed."
It is worth mentioning that these 8,000 bitcoins are worth about $660 million at current prices and were accidentally discarded in a landfill by his ex-partner in 2013. (Cointelegraph)
