According to Odaily, Michael Seibel announced on Wednesday evening via X that he will transition to an 'Honorary Partner' role at Y Combinator after more than 12 years with the organization. Seibel initially joined Y Combinator as a founder, participating twice in the program—first with the streaming startup Justin.TV and later with the streaming app Socialcam. Over the years, he has served as a group partner, managing director, and CEO of the YC accelerator. Recently, Seibel had already stepped back to a less operationally involved group partner role. In a blog post last year, he mentioned his intention to 'hand over my leadership responsibilities,' which would take effect after the completion of the accelerator's winter startup batch.
