Odaily Planet Daily News The Trump administration is planning to reorganize the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and integrate blockchain technology into its procurement system. The proposal suggests that USAID be renamed the "United States International Humanitarian Assistance Agency" and be directly under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of State.
According to a memorandum circulated within the State Department, all aid distribution will be securely tracked through blockchain to greatly improve security, transparency and traceability. At the same time, a payment model based on "results-oriented" will be established, rather than the traditional "input-oriented" to promote efficiency and innovation.
It is not clear whether the blockchain system will involve cryptocurrencies or stablecoins, or will only be used as a digital ledger. (CoinDesk)
