According to TechCrunch, the encryption investment institution Portal Ventures announced that it has raised $35 million for its first fund for pre-seed investment in the encryption startup field. The fund is led by former Insight senior partner Evan Fisher, who previously worked at Goldman Sachs and spent three years as a senior partner at Insight Partners, where investments included FTX, TaxBit, ZenGo and Flutterwa and Flutterwave. Another Portal venture partner, Ori Shimony, has a development background in the Web3 infrastructure space. Portal Ventures’ investments focus on infrastructure and fulfilling the software needs of the field, and since January this year, Portal Ventures has completed 8 deals, including Web3 development tools startup Polywrap and encrypted game infrastructure startup Worlds.org.
