Odaily Planet Daily News Crypto law firm Burwick Law sent an open letter to Solana Ecosystem NFT Protocol Metaplex, urging it to reconsider its plan to transfer unclaimed SOL after NFT adjustment and optimization to the DAO treasury, saying that this behavior may constitute unjust enrichment and may trigger long-term litigation.
Metaplex once announced that TM NFT holders can claim a small amount of SOL through the "resize" operation before April 25. If the operation is not carried out after the deadline, their unclaimed assets will be automatically transferred to the DAO treasury. Burwick said that the plan lacked transparent notification, and more than 54,000 SOLs were facing the risk of zeroing. Currently, only about 7,043 SOLs have been claimed, and the unclaimed part is worth more than 6.5 million US dollars.
Burwick suggested that Metaplex should immediately suspend the current plan, directly return 90% of the unclaimed SOL to NFT holders, and retain 10% for network maintenance to avoid litigation and maintain user trust. (Cointelegraph)
