Australian police seized assets related to hacking case, including 25 BTC and seaside mansion

Odaily Planet Daily News The Australian Federal Police (AFP) announced on May 18 that it had seized 25 bitcoins (currently worth about $2.62 million), a seaside mansion and a Mercedes-Benz car held by a Queensland man, with a total value of 4.5 million Australian dollars (about $2.88 million). According to the investigation, these assets may be related to the theft of 950 bitcoins from a French exchange in 2013. Shane Stephen Duffy, the person involved in the case, pleaded guilty to hacking crimes in 2016 involving the sale of League of Legends player data. The AFP exercised special powers under the Proceeds of Crime Act to obtain the above assets through a court confiscation order without filing criminal charges.
