CertiK: Hackers will shift their focus from code to users by 2025, resulting in $2.1 billion in cryptocurrency theft

As of 2025, the losses caused by cryptocurrency-related attacks have exceeded $2.1 billion, with most of the losses coming from wallet theft and phishing attacks. CertiK co-founder Ronghui Gu said that the attack mode has shifted from code vulnerabilities to exploiting human behavior vulnerabilities. Most of the $2.1 billion loss was caused by wallet theft, poor key management and operational problems.
