Odaily Planet Daily News: The Ethereum Foundation announced that it will provide up to $1.25 million in funding to support the legal defense of Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm, including $500,000 in direct aid and up to $750,000 in community matching donations. Roman Storm will be tried in a U.S. federal court on July 14, facing charges such as operating a remittance business without permission, money laundering, and violating sanctions. The foundation emphasized that "privacy is normal and writing code is not a crime", and this move is seen as a key gesture in support of open source and Web3 privacy freedom. Previously, Vitalik Buterin donated 50 ETH to support Storm's defense.
