According to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, V Ventures, a subsidiary of Thoresen Thai Agencies Pcl, will acquire about 90% of Zipmex’s shares for a consideration of US$100 million, of which US$30 million will be paid in cash and the rest will be paid in cryptocurrency. The cryptocurrency Zipmex receives from the transaction will be used to gradually offer customer withdrawals by next April, the people said. A share sale agreement detailing the terms of the deal was brought before a hearing in a Singapore court, but the buyer was not identified at the hearing.
