SBF: Compared with other customers, Alameda Research has a higher borrowing limit at FTX

According to the Financial Times, former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried said in an interview that Alameda Research has a higher borrowing limit at FTX than other clients. The high borrowing limit is due to the fact that Alameda Research was the main liquidity provider for FTX in the early days of FTX. According to SBF, Alameda accounted for 45% of the transaction volume on FTX in 2019 when FTX was first established, and only 2% in 2022. Additionally, Alameda had approximately $10 billion in liabilities to FTX at the time of FTX’s bankruptcy filing.
