The U.S. Department of Justice announced that Pratt engaged in conversations with a confidential informant in February 2023, believing the informant could assist him in traveling abroad to join ISIS. Over the following months, Pratt expressed his desire to join ISIS and recorded a video pledging allegiance to the group. In March and May 2023, Pratt sent cryptocurrency to the informant, intending to support violent activities.
Pratt's sentencing is scheduled for November 13, 2025, where he faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both.
