Japan Seeks Swift Implementation of U.S. Tariff Reduction Agreement

According to BlockBeats, Japan's Minister of Economic Revitalization, Ryoichi Akazawa, arrived in Washington on Tuesday evening to urge U.S. government officials to expedite the implementation of a tariff reduction agreement on Japanese automobiles and auto parts. Two weeks ago, Akazawa and U.S. President Donald Trump reached a trade agreement in which the U.S. pledged to lower the so-called reciprocal tariffs on Japanese goods from 25% to 15%. At that time, Trump also agreed to reduce tariffs on Japanese automobiles to 15% in exchange for Japan's commitment to significant investments in the United States.
