U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren, D-Massachusetts, and Tina Smith, D-Minnesota, wrote to Federal Reserve Chairman Powell, FDIC Acting Chairman Martin Gruenberg, and OCC Acting Comptroller Michael Hsu, calling on banking regulators to review banks’ relationships with crypto firms. “While the banking system has so far been unaffected by the latest cryptocurrency debacle, the FTX debacle suggests that cryptocurrencies may be more integrated into the banking system than regulators realize,” the letter reads.
