The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear Coinbase’s appeal of two class-action lawsuits, CNBC reported. Coinbase is seeking to resolve two customer lawsuits against the company through private arbitration, but a federal appeals court has refused to stay the two cases at the district court level, so Coinbase is seeking to revoke the deprivation of its right to arbitrate disputes by appealing to the Supreme Court. Order, the case may be the first case involving a cryptocurrency company to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. Foresight News previously reported that in August Coinbase asked the U.S. Supreme Court to stay two lawsuits by users of the exchange while filing an appeal seeking to send those cases to arbitration. In one lawsuit, the user says Coinbase should reimburse him for $31,000 he lost after giving scammers remote access to his account; in another, Coinbase is accused of violating California consumer law by holding a $1.2 million Dogecoin sweepstakes Both lawsuits seek a class action for failing to adequately disclose that entrants did not have to buy or sell cryptocurrencies.
