According to Cointelegraph, Polygon is currently dealing with a temporary delay in consensus finality caused by a bug impacting the Bor and Erigon nodes. This issue, which emerged early on Wednesday, has disrupted some Remote Procedure Call (RPC) services and led to access problems for applications built on the network. Despite these challenges, the Polygon blockchain remains operational and continues to produce blocks. However, several RPC providers and validators have had to revert to the last finalized block and resynchronize.
The Polygon team has identified that the bug is hindering node progress for specific configurations. Fortunately, restarting the affected nodes has resolved the issue for some participants. "We see that a restart of nodes has fixed the issues for many validators and RPC providers," stated Polygon. Engineers are actively working with infrastructure providers to expedite debugging efforts and restore full functionality. The team has assured users that the incident does not impact core chain operations and promised a swift recovery.
Cointelegraph attempted to contact Polygon Labs for comments but did not receive a response by the time of publication. This situation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
