According to official information, the Gonka network currently boasts computing power equivalent to 500 H100 GPUs. Unlike traditional centralized private clouds, this computing power is distributed and contributed by global participants, forming an open and shared computing network. This avoids monopoly and control by a single institution, and opens new possibilities for the widespread adoption and innovation of high-performance computing. As previously reported, the Gonka mainnet has officially launched, and AI inference services are currently completely free. Contributors receive daily rewards in GNK tokens based on their computing power contribution. 323,000 GNK tokens are minted each epoch, decreasing over time to create a scarcity curve and ensure predictable incentives. Gonka is reportedly incubated by US AI developer Product Science Inc. Founded by the Libermans siblings, Web 2 industry veterans and former core product directors at Snap Inc., the company successfully raised $18 million in 2023 from investors including OpenAI investor Coatue Management, Solana investor Slow Ventures, K5, Insight, and Benchmark Partners. Early contributors to the project include well-known leaders in the Web 2-Web 3 space, such as 6 Blocks, Hard Yaka, Gcore, and Bitfury.
