Bloomberg: Binance and other crypto companies are under anti-money laundering investigation by the French government

According to Bloomberg, France is expanding its anti-money laundering scrutiny of cryptocurrency trading platforms, with regulators attempting to determine which of the over 100 institutions registered to provide crypto services in the country will receive EU-wide operating licenses in the coming months. According to people familiar with the matter, the French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR) has been reviewing dozens of trading platforms since the end of last year. These people requested anonymity due to the confidentiality of the process. Binance and other platforms are under scrutiny by ACPR officials, according to these people. As part of these reviews, the regulator last year asked Binance, the operator of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, to strengthen its risk controls, according to one person familiar with the matter.
