0xAA, founder of WTF Academy, posted on the X platform that the Jesse token, issued by Jesse Pollak, the lead developer of the Base protocol, was targeted by a "scientist" attack at its opening. One address used 67 ETH to buy 7.6% of the total Jesse token supply, becoming the first address to do so, incurring gas fees of $40,000. Their average cost per share corresponded to a market value of $2.4 million. They subsequently liquidated their holdings when the market value of the Jesse token exceeded $10 million, making a profit of approximately $1 million.
