Opinion: The crypto market has not reached "frenzy levels," and a large-scale capitulation sell-off is unlikely.

According to Cointelegraph, macroeconomist Lyn Alden believes that a significant crash in Bitcoin and the broader cryptocurrency market is unlikely at this stage. Speaking on the “What Bitcoin Did” podcast, Alden stated, “We haven’t reached frenzied levels in this cycle; therefore, there are fewer reasons to expect that kind of massive capitulation sell-off.” She argues that the market cycle may last longer than people expect because it is no longer driven by the “halving” event, but rather by the broader macro environment and interest in the asset itself, thus negating the validity of the four-year cycle theory. However, not everyone agrees with her view. Vineet Budki, CEO of Sigma Capital, recently told Cointelegraph that he expects Bitcoin to retrace 65% to 70% over the next two years. Alden stated that market outcomes are usually not as good or as bad as investors imagine. Bitcoin has been on a downtrend since hitting an all-time high of $125,100 on October 5th, falling as low as $80,700 on Thursday before recovering slightly to $85,710 at the time of the report. Bitcoin has fallen 22.46% in the past 30 days. Lyn Alden said investors need to stop taking bull markets for granted, stating, "Nobody takes bull markets for granted." She predicts Bitcoin will reclaim the $100,000 level in 2026 and reach a new all-time high in the same year or 2027.
