US President Donald Trump on March 8th again threatened to "severely strike" Iran if further deaths occurred. In a radio interview that day, Trump said the US was closely monitoring the unrest in Iran and was unsure "whether it was necessary to hold any one person accountable," but if Iranian authorities bore direct responsibility for the deaths, "they will pay a heavy price." Unrest has broken out in several parts of Iran, causing casualties. Trump threatened to intervene in the unrest on March 2nd. Iran emphasized that the Iranian people will resolve their problems through dialogue and interaction, and will not tolerate any form of external interference.
