U.S. Treasury yields edged higher while the dollar strengthened ahead of the release of the December non-farm payroll data. Fadi Al Kurdi of FFA Kings stated in a report that the data "could be crucial in shaping expectations for monetary policy in 2026." He noted that any significant deviation from expectations could inject volatility into the currency and bond markets.
