In his previously released chairman's address, Tom Lee stated that Bitmine shareholders should vote in favor of an amendment to increase authorized shares before the upcoming annual general meeting on January 15, 2026. This is because Bitmine's bylaws contain a specific provision requiring 50.1% of the outstanding shares to support the issuance of new shares, a very high threshold. The issuance must proceed immediately because Bitmine's current 500 million authorized shares are nearing exhaustion, at which point the accumulation of ETH will slow down.
