According to Whale Alert, Tether froze 182 million USDT across five separate addresses on the Tron network on January 11. The affected addresses held between 12 million and 50 million USDT. This action complies with Tether's wallet suspension protocol launched in December 2023, aimed at complying with sanctions requirements from the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). By mid-2025, Tether has cumulatively frozen over $3 billion in USDT and is cooperating with more than 310 law enforcement agencies in 62 countries. AMLBot data shows that since 2023, Tether's total frozen amount is approximately 30 times that of Circle. Currently, the circulating supply of USDT exceeds $187 billion, representing approximately 64% of the market share.
