In a post on the X platform, Vitalik Buterin stated that the vision of Web3 in 2014 was to build a permissionless decentralized application ecosystem. Although this vision has been obscured by various "meta" and "narratives," its core technologies are becoming increasingly powerful. Ethereum has now achieved Proof-of-Stake (PoS) and is scaling, while ZK-EVM and PeerDAS are effectively realizing the "sharding" vision. The data layer protocol Whisper has evolved into Waku and provides support for applications like Status. IPFS performs exceptionally well in decentralized file retrieval. Vitalik believes that all the prerequisites for the original vision of Web3 are now in place, and it's time to build decentralization. He cited Fileverse as an example, calling it a model of correct practice, as it utilizes Ethereum and Gnosis Chain to handle names and accounts. He concluded by stating that a decentralized revival is imminent.
