BNB Chain, the world’s largest smart contract blockchain in terms of daily active users, has announced 27 startups who emerged as winners from its Web3 accelerator program, MVB. Seven outstanding projects will receive investment from Binance Labs, which co-leads the initiative with BNB Chain.
The startups that emerged from the program were across DeFi, Music & NFTs, Gaming & Metaverse, Infra & Tooling, Security, and more.
Decentralized Finance (DeFi) saw huge interest with Antimatter DAO, a DeFi derivatives and financial NFTs platform, Tender.fi, an undercollateralized lending and borrowing DeFi protocol, Aperture Finance, a cross-chain investment solution, and Velvet Capital, a crypto index funds platform as winners.
Infrastructure & Tooling has been one of the sectors that has seen massive growth in 2022. Deus Ex Securitas, a machine learning security solution, Multi-chain event protocol (MEP), a multi-chain interoperability communication protocol, Nakji Network, a multi-chain data query tool, Overeality, a ZK interoperability infrastructure, Port3 Network, an on-chain and off-chain social data oracle, Staging Labs, an infrastructure security platforms, Web3Go, a multi-chain open data analytics platform, Zash, an enterprise-grade multi-chain NFT data tool, and Space ID, a BNB leading DID infra provider all won in this category.
Among the winners in the Music & NFTs domain were Double Protocol, an NFT renting platform, GiroGiroAI, an AI infra to generate intelligent dynamic NFTs, Kola Labs, an AI tool for on-chain composable and generative music, Orange Protocol, a reputation and trust minting protocol, Metasset, a community-based NFT affiliate network tooling on BNB Chain, and Rareboard, an NFT Marketplace Aggregator.
In Gaming & Metaverse, winning dApps included Gameta, a gaming platform, Meta Apes, the first BNB Sidechain game with decent user traction, and CryptoZombies, a blockchain-based coding curriculum solution.
IdentDeFi, a platform that converts standard tokens to wrapped AML/KYC compliant tokens, InsurAce Protocol, an insurance protocol in Security, Wink Financial, a Web3 payroll and treasury management solution, FusePass, a talent hiring platform, and AnyDAO, a Web3 DAO-as-a-service platform, were also among the winners.
Gwendolyn Regina, Investment Director at BNB Chain said: “MVB V was one of the most successful cohorts, receiving a record 700 plus applications from web3 developers from all over the world in sectors as diverse as Defi, infra & tools, NFT, Gamefi, and Security.”
“The projects have received strong mentoring and support from BNB Chain and the Binance Labs ecosystem. This includes general tech and product, tokenomics advisory, community and regional market support. There is also tech advice and integration with BNB Chain, CoinMarketCap, and Trust Wallet infrastructure support, which will help the projects grow quickly and integrate into the entire ecosystem,” Regina added.

Binance Labs and BNB Chain together launched the fifth cohort of MVB in June to help projects onboard and scale on BNB Chain. The Binance Labs team provided in-depth project analysis based on project stage, targeted coaching, ecosystem integration, and network assistance to all finalist projects as special support. During MVB V, the Labs team provided 10+ dedicated mentorship sessions with industry veterans and experienced founders, where product innovation design, community management and user growth, infrastructure scaling, and security, investment advice, etc. were among the topics that were covered.
