On August 5th, the first Web3 hackathon event in Japan - "Tokyo Web3 Summer Hackathon (TWSH)" was officially announced.
"Tokyo Web3 Summer Hackathon (TWSH)" was initiated by Cryptogram Venture (CGV), supported by experts from Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Keio University, SONY, Softbank, Asian Blockchain Game Alliance (ABGA), Cointelegraph Japan (CTJ) and others The event will be "Based in Japan and look at the world", to discover, support and assist outstanding talents and teams in the Web3 field on a global scale, to jointly explore the application potential of popular Web3 tracks, and to help teams and projects start smoothly and gain Sustainable growth and development.
Since the release of the "TWSH" event, dozens of industry organizations such as IOSG, BAI capital, HashKey, Metis, Achemypay, etc. have joined the competition supporting organizations and members of the judging committee; nearly 100 projects have completed registration.
According to the unified arrangement and setting of the "TWSH" event organizing committee, the detailed rules of this hackathon competition are as follows:
1. Activity time
- July 26-August 26: project registration stage;
- August 27th-September 16th: Project pre-selection, excellent project roadshow, and NFT theme exhibition and other peripheral activities
- September 17th-September 26th: organize project centralized review and announce the award results;
- End of September: Offline Award Ceremony in Japan

2. Participants
"TWSH" is open to traditional Internet developers and blockchain developers who are interested in Web3, as well as developers, engineers, product managers, UI designers, etc. who are innovative and creative.
3. Key tracks
"TWSH" welcomes teams from any public chain/ecology to submit projects. The key tracks of the competition include:
- Web3 protocol and infrastructure (L1/L2/cross-chain bridge, storage/identity/communication/audit, etc.);
- Metaverse (virtual land, scene development, platform construction, content production, virtual people, etc.);
- NFT (new standard protocol, issuance platform, liquidity infrastructure, blue chip assets, etc.);
- Game (innovative games, basic development layer, distribution platform, guild, etc.);
- DAO (basic tools, asset management platform, collection/self-service, guild governance), etc.
4. Resource support
- Bonus sponsorship. The winning projects will jointly win awards with a total prize pool of US$150,000: 1 champion (20,000 USDT); 2 runners-up (10,000 USDT each); 6 third runners-up (5,000 USDT each), as well as regional awards, track awards and Several ecological sponsorship awards.
- Project investment and entrepreneurial guidance. Excellent projects have the opportunity to receive a total of one million US dollars of incubation fund support, as well as entrepreneurial guidance from the world's top VC institutions.
