The Miss Universe Organisation has unequivocally refuted any connection to the recently unveiled Miss Universe Coin project, which was initially announced during the Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) earlier this month.
PBW, the organising body behind the event, has confirmed ongoing communication with all involved parties and has promised an imminent update.
The project's announcement at PBW, attributed to Donald Lim, the founder of PBW's managing organisation, left many intrigued.

However, the official Miss Universe Organisation has categorically disassociated itself from the coin project, branding it as fraudulent.
The Miss Universe Organisation has made it explicitly clear that there is no affiliation between Miss Universe Philippines and any cryptocurrency offering associated with the Miss Universe brand.
Notably, Mitchelle Dee, the reigning Miss Universe Philippines, found herself entangled in this controversy due to her presence at the coin launch event.

On 22 September, the Miss Universe Organisation conveyed via its official Facebook page that neither it nor JKN Global Group, the company overseeing the pageant, has any affiliation with the coin project introduced at the PBW event.
The Miss Universe Organisation urged their dedicated followers to exercise extreme prudence when considering any investments related to the coin project.
Their commitment to preventing potential victims from falling prey to what they perceive as a fraudulent endeavour is evident.
Importantly, the organization emphasised that their products have no involvement in the voting or selection processes for pageant titleholders, dispelling any misconceptions in this regard.
A spokesperson from the Miss Universe Organisation expressed their concern that similar announcements targeting unsuspecting individuals may surface at upcoming blockchain conferences in Singapore and Dubai, raising concerns about the intentions behind such activities.
It wrote:
"There is currently no Miss Universe cryptocurrency or blockchain offering, and these products are in no way involved with the voting or selection process for Miss Universe or the Miss Universe Philippines pageants."
