周末，一种在以太坊上刻写图像的新协议引起了人们的浓厚兴趣，它允许使用调用数据在以太坊上创建和共享数字对象——被称为 Ethscriptions，显然是对 Inscriptions 的致敬。
该项目由 Genius.com 的联合创始人兼前 CEO Tom Lehman 开发，一推出就引起了爆炸性的关注。据 Lehman 称，在不到 18 小时内就创建了近 30,000 个 Ethscriptions，并在推特上表示该发布是一个“巨大的成功”。
Ethscriptions 是如何工作？
- 任何成功的以太坊交易，其输入数据（解释为 UTF-8 时）是有效的数据 URI 时，将创建一个 Ethscription，前提是数据 URI 是唯一的。重复的内容将被忽略。所有有效的 MIME 类型都受支持。
- 对于 URI 要想保持唯一，必须满足前一个块或同一块中较早的交易中没有任何具有相同内容的 Ethscription。
- 任何输入数据是有效 Ethscription 的交易哈希的以太坊交易都是有效的 Ethscription 传输，前提是交易发送者是 Ethscription 的所有者。
Ethscriptions 使得非金融和任意数据可以被写入以太坊区块链，只要文件大小不超过 96 千字节，用户可以刻录任何类型的文件。据其创建者称，虽然目前它只允许图片——但将来会有所改变。
这些刻录利用了所谓的以太坊“调用数据（Calldata）”，它指的是在对智能合约的调用中提供的数据。Lehman 表示，这比使用合约存储更便宜且更去中心化。 这个协议“保证所有有效的 Ethscriptions 内容的唯一的”，创建者在推特上写道。
于 Ordinals 不同的是，以太坊社区明显对这次创新和实验持开放态度。
“对我来说，Ethscriptions 的令人兴奋之处，就像 Ordinals 一样，是开发人员再次使用区块链技术，”自称 NFT 考古学家 Adam McBride 说。“正是这种实验推动了创新和采用。”与 Ordinal 的热潮一样，Eths 也吸引了大量用户的关注，甚至导致 Ethscriptions 出现了数次停机。
下面以 ETHS 为例，简单介绍关于 Ethscriptions 的铭刻方法：
- 复制代码，data:，{"p":"erc-20"，"op":"mint"，"tick":"eths"，"id":"21000 以内的任意数字"，"amt":"1000"}，进行转码网站转为 16 进制；
- 打开钱包，向自己的地址转入 0ETH，并将转码获得的 16 进制复制填写；
- 确认付款即可。
同样，有 Fomo 就有 Fud，有不少社区认为 Ethscriptions 是在“开倒车”。加密 KOL Chainleft 也认为 Ethscriptions 并没有什么创新。首先，虽然该协议于周末首次亮相，但早在 2016 年，人们一直在调用数据中存储自定义数据 / 艺术，这项技术已经存在多年。他们主要是通过突破当时工具 / 技术的界限来做到这一点的，这也不是存储艺术品的理想方式。虽然可以进行访问，但它没有被分配给代币，这就是为什么 Ethscriptions 试图通过链外共识（公平）来解决这个问题。
其次，在功能上，状态数据有着更完善的功能，比如运行时的动态性或艺术的可编程性。再于 Inscriptions（IS）进行比较，IS 比 ES 被修剪的可能性要小得多。IS 的存储节点也比 ES 多，ES 可以被 ETH 原生合约调用，而 IS 不能，两者都不能执行运行时函数。
总的来说，关于 Ethscriptions 是昙花一现的泡沫，还是一个令人兴奋的新趋势众说纷纭，而这最终的决定权取决于社区的共识。
