Revolut Expands Crypto Team Amidst U.S. Service Suspension

Financial technology firm Revolut has announced plans to bolster its global cryptocurrency team, aiming to hire an additional 20% of employees by the close of 2023.

According to reports from Financial News, Revolut is set to bring on over 1,000 new team members this year, with nearly 40% of these roles allocated to the United Kingdom.

Revolut is actively searching for candidates to fill various positions related to crypto compliance and investigations for markets like Spain, India, and Poland.

Last week, Revolut announced that US-based users would lose the ability to purchase cryptocurrencies on the platform starting September 2, and selling and holding would cease by October 3.

Revolut, like other companies, cited regulatory uncertainties in the US as a primary factor behind this decision.

The company's spokesperson explained,

"As a result of the evolving regulatory environment and the uncertainties around the crypto market in the US, we've taken the difficult decision, together with our U.S. banking partner, to suspend access to cryptocurrencies through Revolut in the U.S."
