In a recent statement, crypto giant Solana (SOL) announced their upcoming project, the Saga android phone, and built-in Web3 dApp development program Solana Mobile Stack (SMS).
This, in combination with apps from new projects like Xchange Monster (MXCH), are proof of the direction that the crypto market is heading – that mobile dApps and wallets are the next big thing, and as such, are worth investing in now.
Solana (SOL) Tackles The Android Market With Saga
While many cryptocurrencies have mobile applications that can be used and downloaded on the go, such as Bitcoin’s (BTC) smartphone wallets, there has yet to be a crypto project to release their own in-house designed phone.
The Saga, which was announced alongside the Solana Mobile Stack (SMS) program on Wednesday, has been designed with Web3 in mind, being a secure gateway to users’ crypto wallets and assets that fits right in their pocket.
While there is limited information available regarding the Saga at this stage, the phone is still set to be a hit, being created alongside former Essentials designers.
For developers, however, what excited them in this announcement was the reveal of Solana Mobile Stack (SMS), Solana’s (SOL) open-source dApp software development kit designed to streamline the process of dApp creation.
As a development kit made by Solana (SOL), dApps developed through the software will be hosted on the Solana (SOL) blockchain, with multiple features at the developers’ disposal.
Some of these include Solana Pay, a feature that allows transactions to be launched through QR codes and web browser interactions by connecting to wallet applications across users’ devices, and the Mobile Wallet Adapter, which allows users to connect their crypto wallets with different apps, even those not designed for Android.
All of these elements are making the Solana Mobile Stack (SMS) a highly anticipated release, with an early version of the software developer kit currently available to download. With the Saga not set to release until early 2023, this will give developers plenty of time to craft some truly unique dApps, likely to push the Saga and Solana (SOL) itself to new heights of success.
So, don’t delay. Solana’s (SOL) calling!
